Our story

Abefore the official creation of the Rubber Route, its CEO, Juan Fernan Sierra Armenians, started as a tapper on a small rubber plantation located in the city of Palmira – Valle delete Cauca – Colombia. This plantation is one of the oldest in the world, and its seedlings were obtained from species of the genus Rubber, selected by Dr. Richard Evans' expedition Schultes

Your experience in the world of natural rubber came about through participation in the rustic production of sheets (RSS 1, RSS 2, and RSS 3) and latex, which were distributed in different regions of Colombia and marketed in the artifact industry such as hoses, gloves, and footwear. In parallel, through training and courses in natural rubber producing regions, you deepened your knowledge, allowing you to give lectures at national and international events, as well as at research centers and universities. Furthermore, you also coordinated theoretical-practical courses for producers and entrepreneurs on management, agronomic practices, disease management, rubber tree cultivation, rubber quality, industrialization, and commercialization.

Finally, in 2015, with the goal of further establishing himself in this market and developing his own brand, he sought guidance from businessman Dr. Jairo Gomez of Xzito, a company located in Johnston, RI—United States. Following that conversation, after considering several names, the name “Rubber Route” was inspired by the story of how the director connected his clients with the rubber tree plantation.

Currently, Rubber Route focuses on opening up new business opportunities, while continuing to provide consulting and advisory services for rubber tree management and working to ensure that natural rubber is processed and marketed in a sustainable manner.
